I picked Hardwar up one day in the discount bin of a computer store for $5 and simply could NOT believe what a great game it is!! I've never found anything quite like it. I immediately became a Hardwar junkie!!
I've gotten my son playing the game and also several of my co-workers. They're all anxiously awaiting a fix for the online lag problem.
My brother lives two blocks away from me and we've hooked up with the direct modem connection and the game seems to play fine.
My "HAMMER" pilot name was derived from a series of SF books by David Drake called Hammer's Slammers. They're mercenary soldiers who drive nuclear fusion powered tanks. The tanks are hover craft. Don't get in their way!! Ha ha!
I'm not all that great of a combat pilot, but of course, I'll always be happy to burn a ship to slag that gets in the way of my guns!!!
I hope to get to play against the other human pilots someday for some good practice. Dakota has been the only pilot so far that has hosted a game that I could fly in. We spent our time killing Laz, of course!!!
